Dr Thanos Charalampopoulos

Dr Thanos Charalampopoulos graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens, Greece in 2000.

Dr Charalampopoulos specialised in General Cardiology in large tertiary university hospitals in Athens. He subspecialised in Pulmonary Hypertension and Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing in the National Pulmonary Hypertension services at the Hammersmith and Great Ormond Street hospitals in London from 2011-2014.

Dr Charalampopoulos has been a Consultant Cardiologist since 2014 in Pulmonary Vascular Disease Unit at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, the largest centre for adults with Pulmonary Hypertension in the UK. He is also a Heart Failure Consultant at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.

Dr Charalampopoulos is also a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield and actively involved in teaching medical students. His areas of expertise are heart failure, pulmonary hypertension and unexplained breathlessness. He also provides care for a wide range of diseases within General Cardiology.
