REASONS TO SEE A GASTROENTEROLOGIST:

You may have Dyspepsia symptoms e.g. heartburn, reflux, epigastric pain, bloating, nausea and fullness

You may have unresolved gastrointestinal symptoms

You may need an endoscopic examination (Small camera inserted through throat/back passage) or treatment trial but would benefit from seeing a Gastroenterologist first

Irritable bowel syndrome type symptoms
-
Suspected malabsorption e.g. coeliac disease, lactose intolerance
FURTHER TESTS.
Sometimes, there may be further tests to investigate your possible condition/symptoms.
These could be any of the following:
GASTROSCOPY
Camera test to investigate
abdominal conditions
SIGMOIDOSCOPY
Camera test to investigate
lower bowel conditions
COLONOSCOPY
Camera test to investigate
bowel conditions
PATIENT PATHWAY
Step 1
Patient contacts our team with a brief description of their symptoms. All responses are addressed within 2 hours of the enquiry and will be answered within the hours of 8am - 5pm between Monday and Friday.
Step 2
Within 48 hours, our private services team will then book an appointment at a convenient time for you. This can be a face to face or telephone appointment with our Gastroenterologists, Dr Mohammed or Dr Kapur.
Step 3
The patient will then attend our Thorpe Park Clinic or receive a call from our Gastroenterologists on the specified date and time. During the consultation they will assess your symptoms and determine the most suitable treatment.
Step 4
If a scope procedure (e.g., Colonoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, Gastroscopy) is required, an internal referral can be completed. We will aim to book this appointment at our Thorpe Park Clinic within a week.
Step 5
Following any tests or procedures completed, all results will be sent back to the Gastroenterologists who will determine whether a follow up appointment to discuss your results or any further treatment is required.
