Mr Cockbain is a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon.  He completed surgical training in Yorkshire,before undertaking advanced training in minimally invasive (keyhole) androbotic surgery in Australia, Germany and Belgium. He has pioneered theintroduction of robotic surgery for weight loss, acid reflux, and cancertreatment in Leeds.

Research

Mr Cockbain is activelyinvolved in delivering several large UK trials. These include new surgicaltechniques and treatments to improve patient outcomes, and novel methods tomonitor patients after surgery to improve quality of life. He has published over50 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and presented his worknationally and internationally.
