Dr Becky Mawson

Dr Becky Mawson is an experienced General Practitioner with a specialinterest in women's health, bringing over 10 years of clinical experience toher GP practice. She graduated from medical school in 2007 and initiallytrained in obstetrics and gynaecology before completing her GP training in2014. Dr Mawson has also worked in sexual health clinics and fertility clinics,further broadening her expertise. She holds extensive qualifications includinga Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health (DFSRH), Diploma of the RoyalCollege of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG), and a Diploma in MedicalGynaecology and Obstetrics from Otago University, giving her exceptional depthof expertise in women's healthcare.

Dr Becky currently works as an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer, combiningher role as an NHS GP with research work at the University of Sheffield. She iscompleting her MD doctoral study exploring sexual and reproductive health inprimary care. Her research specialises in the earlier diagnosis of women'shealth conditions, particularly endometriosis, adenomyosis and PCOS. She hasbeen actively involved in groundbreaking research exploring biomarkers forendometriosis and PCOS, contributing to improved diagnostic pathways for womenexperiencing these often under-diagnosed conditions.

In addition to her clinical and research work, Dr Becky has extensiveexperience in Femtech and is currently developing her own contraception trackerapp, demonstrating her commitment to innovative approaches to women'shealthcare. This combination of clinical expertise, research knowledge, andtechnological innovation allows her to offer patients the most up-to-date,evidence-based care.

Dr Becky is passionate about providing comprehensive women's healthservices, from contraceptive advice and reproductive health to the diagnosisand management of complex gynaecological conditions. She takes a holisticapproach to women's health, bringing together thorough history-taking, carefulexamination and evidence-based investigations to reach accurate diagnoses. Whencomplex cases require further investigation, Dr Becky has establishedconnections with some of the best specialists in South Yorkshire, ensuring herpatients receive the most appropriate and timely care.

At Living Care, Cannon Medical Centre, Dr Becky offers extended consultationtimes in a comfortable, private setting, allowing women to discuss their healthconcerns openly and receive personalised care tailored to their specificcircumstances.
