In the UK, between one-third and one-half of the population lives with chronic pain, and it’s more common among women than men. Private pain management consultations provide a personalised, consultant-led approach to investigating, diagnosing and managing pain.
LivingCare’s pain management consultations aim to help you understand your condition and identify the best approach to reducing and managing your pain.
Whether chronic or short-term, pain can impact your daily life. At LivingCare, our Musculoskeletal Radiologists and Pain Management Consultants offer bespoke plans and treatments to reduce and manage pain.
During your consultation, you will be asked about your pain and its impact on your life, past injuries, and any treatment you have tried and tests you’ve had. Using findings from a physical exam and your medical history, they’ll create a bespoke plan, organise referrals for injection clinics and radiofrequency treatments, and further tests where necessary.
Your individual care plan may include advice, medication changes, interventions, further tests, and referrals to other specialists. We can also offer support and guidance to help you stop ineffective medication or that which may cause long-term harm.
Whether you have joint pain from an ongoing condition or following an injury, or persistent spinal pain requiring specialist review, our experts give detailed assessments and tailored recommendations.
In a private pain management consultation, you’ll have a thorough assessment and time to discuss your pain in detail. We’ll use the information to offer strategies and treatments that relieve symptoms and support longer-term pain management.
Delivered in modern outpatient settings across Sheffield and Leeds, our Pain Management Consultations aim to identify the source of your pain and create a personalised treatment plan.
Before Your Appointment
Provide details of your symptoms, treatments and any relevant investigations. Bring any imaging or assessment details with you to help your consultant understand your condition.
During Your Appointment
Your consultant will confer with you about your medical history and review any previous imaging or test results. You’ll have time to talk about your symptoms and pain levels. Based on this information, the consultant will explain suitable management options. This may include PRP injections, pain injections or radiofrequency, or onward referrals to specialists.
After Your Appointment
Following your pain management consultation, you’ll have a bespoke treatment plan. If you need injections, imaging, or additional tests, you can make arrangements for them. You may need a follow-up to monitor your response and make any adjustments.
Pain management consultations are the first step in reducing your pain with LivingCare. The consultants provide a clear diagnosis and a personalised pain management plan to improve your quality of life.
At LivingCare, we have the facilities to quickly support the review and treatment of pain-related problems. We understand how pain impacts your daily life and aim to get it under control before it worsens or becomes chronic. If surgery or further treatment is needed, we can organise referrals.
