Yorkshire-based healthcare provider LivingCare Group has strengthened its elite sport offering with the launch of an enhanced concussion pathway, alongside a new collaboration with Intelerad, a GE HealthCare company, leveraging its advanced image-sharing solution, InteleShare™.

With increasing scrutiny on how head injuries are diagnosed and managed, faster access to imaging and specialist input is critical to ensuring athletes receive timely, appropriate care for a safe return to elite sport.

Delivered in collaboration with Intelerad, a global leader in medical imaging software solutions, the InteleShare platform is designed to enable clinicians to quickly and securely access, share, and review images in real time. This streamlines complex workflows and removes delays in accessing results, allowing multidisciplinary teams, from consultants to physiotherapists, to make more informed decisions regardless of location.

Alongside this technology collaboration, LivingCare Group has introduced a new consultant-led concussion assessment and management pathway. Available at its Leeds and Sheffield clinics, the bespoke service provides specialist support for both professional and semi-professional athletes following head injuries.

This expansion reinforces LivingCare Group’s commitment to improving care coordination and clinical outcomes for athletes across the region.

Leading this new service is Dr Sam Thistleton, Consultant in Sports and Exercise Medicine at LivingCare Group, bringing more than a decade of experience in elite sports, including the Football Association, Manchester City Football Club and Huddersfield Town. His expertise spans musculoskeletal injury, rehabilitation, and the management of complex sports-related medical conditions, including cardiac screening and breathlessness.

Discussing this service expansion, Dr Sam Thistleton said:

“The demand for rapid diagnosis continues to grow across the industry, and it is increasingly clear that immediate access to clinical data plays a vital role in improving outcomes for both athletes and clinicians. By combining specialist clinical expertise with advanced imaging technology, we are able to deliver a more joined-up, efficient and athlete-centred approach.”

Morris Panner, President at Intelerad added:

“LivingCare Group’s implementation of InteleShare reflects a broader shift toward more connected, accessible imaging across care environments. We’re proud to support their team with our solution that is designed to enable faster, more seamless sharing of clinical data, helping reduce friction in how imaging moves across systems and locations.”

To date, LivingCare Group works in partnership with in excess of 70 leading sports teams across Yorkshire, supporting more than 100 individual athletes.

The business’s sport offering is something particularly close to Founder and Director, Dr Stephen Feldman’s heart, who has 40+ years experience in elite sport and diagnostic care, including his role in the London 2012 Olympic medical team.
