Minor

Surgery

At LivingCare all Minor Surgery procedures are carried out by a specialist team of clinicians who specialise in Minor Surgery and are supported by fully trained nurses.

Ingrown toenail surgery

An ingrown toenail happens when one of your toenails grows into and pierces the skin at the sides of your nail. Ingrown toenail surgery is a relatively straightforward procedure that removes all or part of the nail while the area has been numbed with a local anaesthetic. During the operation all or part of the nail is carefully removed and the nail will grow back. Sometimes the underlying nail bed needs to be removed, however, this means the nail will not grow back.

Cysts and lipomas

Lipomas are soft, fatty lumps that grow under the skin. They're harmless and can usually be left alone if they're small and painless. They are non-cancerous (benign) and are caused by an overgrowth of fat cells. They can grow anywhere in the body where there are fat cells, but are usually seen on the:

  • shoulders
  • neck
  • chest
  • arms
  • back
  • buttock
  • thigh
LivingCare can treat cysts or lipomas by removing them or alternatively, if required, you may need an ultrasound scan or a biopsy. You may also need to see a Dermatologist beforehand via our Dermatology service. We can provide all these for you.

We also provide treatment for: Mole and skin tags removal, injection of joints and skin lesions.
