COVID-19 Swab Testing for symptomatic patients.
The Department of Health states that all patients with the following symptoms must be tested for the Coronavirus as soon as possible.
A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
Most people with coronavirus have at least 1 of these symptoms.
You will book by telephone on 0113 539 4646. Please do not book a swab test online if you are showing any of the symptoms above.

When you call our private patient line on 0113 539 4646, our administrator will discuss the process with you and will need confirmation of your symptoms.
You will need to send someone to collect the swab for you from Thorpe Park Clinic.
The swab will be taken by yourself or if you have been referred by a clinician or team doctor, they may wish to take this for you.
You will need to put this into the sample bag provided with the swab, and this bag will then need to be brought back to Thorpe Park Clinic by means arranged by you.
The sample will then be tested by our laboratory partner and results will be back with you in 2 working days (48 hours)

Which test do I need if I want to know if I currently have COVID-19?
In order to know if you currently have COVID-19, you will require a PCR swab test. This is the most common test and is often requested by schools or workplaces, as well as by airlines.
Which test do I need to know if I have had COVID-19?
In order to tell if you have been previously infected with COVID-19 you can take an antibody test. This does not prove that you are immune to the disease but will give you the peace of mind of knowing if you've had it already or not.
Do you offer free testing on the NHS?
No, the only appointments you can book for COVID-19 testing with us are self pay private tests.

How long will my results take?
We aim to return all swab test results within 2 working days (48 hours), and antibody tests within 4 working days.
How accurate are swab tests for COVID-19?
Our tests have been evaluated at 99% accuracy. No test is 100% accurate and a negative test therefore does not rule out previous COVID-19 infection.
Which test is right for me?
If you're currently showing COVID-19 symptoms (continuous cough, loss of taste/smell or a temperature) you will need to book in for a symptomatic swab test.
When is the best time for an antibody test?
Antibody tests are most effective after 14 days after the onset of symptoms.
How long before travelling do I need a test?
We cannot offer advice or guidance on the right time to have a test before travel, so please don't call us to ask.
You should check this with your airline or guidance from the country that you are travelling to and book an appointment online accordingly.
What is your cancellation policy?
We do not offer refunds against any of our COVID-19 tests. The only exception to this is where you cancel with 48 hours notice in which case a full refund will be offered.
