Five things you didn’t know about our MRI scanner.
We know that going for an MRI scan can seem daunting. In fact, one in seven people admit to cancelling an MRI appointment due to fear of the scanner. To help combat this fear, we launched our ‘Scan-Ease’ service which gives patients the opportunity to book a visit before their scan to meet our expert team, tour the clinic and familiarise themselves with the scanner and learn more about the process, so you know what to expect on the day.
What a lot of people don’t know is that technology has advanced substantially in this area. This has meant that our 3T MRI scanner offers twice the resolution and is much quicker compared to older 1.5T scanners.

Our scanner is the first private 3T MRI scanner in Yorkshire
The 3T MRI scanner has 30% more room inside than traditional MRI scanners, so it’s less claustrophobic and more comfortable for patients
Patients can choose their own soft and soothing lighting settings, helping you to relax during the scan
In the last six months we’ve scanned more than 750 body parts – scanners aren’t just used to look at organs, but joints, bones and soft tissues
Sportspeople regularly have scans as it’s key to identifying any injuries and means the right treatment is advised quickly – we work closely with football players and athletes to make as part of their regular health checks
We’ve found that our ‘Scan-Ease’ service has been really effective in reducing and even eliminating the fear of the ‘unknown’ for patients. Since we’ve had our new scanner we haven’t had one patient fail to complete their treatment.
