LivingCare Group brings laboratory-grade male fertility testing into the home through Sapyen partnership

Yorkshire-based private healthcare provider LivingCare Group has announced a new partnership with Sapyen Group to deliver the UK’s first laboratory grade at-home male fertility testing, helping to reduce delays in diagnosis and improve outcomes for couples.

Around 20 percent of infertility issues¹ are attributed to male partners, but, men often enter the fertility journey much later than women, meaning the overall figure is higher at around 30-40% of overall fertility cases. By enabling discreet, convenient home testing, the partnership, which commenced earlier this year, aims to encourage earlier engagement and faster access to care.

Founded in 2021 in Australia, Sapyen is a global leader in home male fertility diagnostics, pioneering solutions that make sperm testing accurate, affordable and accessible. Its proprietary stabiliser, SPX72, is a first-of-its-kind stabilising medium that extends semen viability from one hour to up to 72 hours, allowing samples to be collected at home and safely transported to a laboratory without compromising clinical accuracy.

This innovation removes the need for in-clinic sample production and enables UK-wide access to fertility testing, with follow-up consultations available online or by phone.

Previously, patients often faced in-person appointments, referrals to limited clinic sessions and average waits of two to three weeks for testing. The new pathway offers a faster, more accessible and patient-friendly route to diagnosis, helping to remove common barriers to male fertility testing.

Through the partnership, LivingCare Group patients can now attend an initial fertility consultation in clinic or virtually. Patients will then receive a Sapyen at-home testing kit the following day, with results available within as little as two days, reducing the time to diagnosis and onward treatment.
