Private care is something we have been providing across a number of specialities for some time, and as we can treat patients on a self-pay or privately insured basis.

We use local consultants who are experts in their fields, and hold regular clinics at our Thorpe Park Clinic. So as you would expect, one consultant cares for you throughout  your entire journey with us.

How to pay for our

private services

Paying for

yourself.

At LivingCare, we understand that immediate access to healthcare is sometimes essential. With our self-pay service, there are no waiting lists. Within 24 hours, you will be offered a consultation date to see a medical professional that is convenient for you. 

 

We provide a service that means you won't be hanging around wondering what's next. Our expert team can give you an assessment and treatment with minimal waiting time after your consultation.

Private care on a self-pay basis is cheaper than you'd think, visit our service pages to view individual prices. We price ourselves on great patient care at great prices.

Your consultation and any tests, scans or investigations will be charged separately, however all of these costs will be quoted to you before anything commences and you are under no obligation to continue your treatment with us unless you are happy to do so.   

As a self-pay patient, you do not require a GP referral, and instead can book straight in with our expert medical team.

If you are paying for your procedure or treatment with medical insurance, you will need to liaise closely with the insurance provider throughout the process. 

​Before attending your first appointment, you should contact your insurance company to check that that your condition is covered for all stages of treatments.

You will need to visit your GP and ask them to refer you to The LivingCare Group at Thorpe Park Clinic for a private procedure. You must ask your GP to write a letter of referral and then either you or your GP can contact us to arrange your first appointment.

If you cannot attend an appointment with your GP to arrange a referral, why not book with our private GP who can assess and refer you into our services?

When you attend Thorpe Park Clinic for for initial consultation you will need to bring with you: 

  • Medical insurance registration documents

  • Completed claim form/proof of pre-authorisation by your insurance company

  • Debit/Credit card for us to hold on file to cover any additional payments such as your insurance excess

The payment process

For most patients, treatment costs are based on agreements with the insurance company and payment will be made direct by them.​

Why would I use private healthcare over an NHS service?


Private healthcare is often chosen instead of an NHS service where patients want to see a particular consultant in a facility of their choice. Going private enables you to access this care often with significantly shorter waiting times and less complex routes to treatment. NHS services often also include certain exclusion criteria - i.e. the removal of moles/cysts or varicose veins for cosmetic reasons, however private care will treat anything clinically appropriate.




Will using a private service affect my care with the NHS?


No, you can have private care at the time time as receiving other care within the NHS. Patients will often receive a diagnosis on the NHS and then seek private care in order to avoid long waiting lists.




How soon can I be seen at LivingCare for a private service?


Across the large majority of our services, we offer appointments within 24-72 hours of your enquiry!




Why would I choose LivingCare over another private provider?


We work with local consultants who offer excellent patient care, and have an excellent nursing and healthcare support team. You'll be in safe hands with us! LivingCare are a local independent healthcare provider based in Yorkshire. We aren't a big corporate organisation and as such our entire team are incredibly close to the care we provide. We are able to tailor our care to our patients needs and offer it at an affordable price. We have excellent facilities in our purpose built, modern clinic at Thorpe Park in Leeds, and have everything required to take great care of you.




How do I pay for my private care?


For patients who have private medical insurance, we are recognised by the majority of all the big insurers, just ask to be seen at "LivingCare Thorpe Park Clinic". For self-pay patients, we accept a range of payment methods including cash, card or bank transfer. All of our self-pay prices are affordable enough to be paid for on a credit card, and we pride ourselves on our excellent value.




Do I need a referral from my GP?


If you're paying for your own care, no you don't need a GP referral. You can book directly in with any of our consultants. If you're an insured patient, your insurance company may require a GP referral into our services. If you're unable to get a GP referral for any reason, our private GP will be able to offer you a referral where appropriate for a small private GP fee.

Do I need private health insurance to be seen?


You do not need health insurance to be seen at LivingCare. All our private services can also be accessed via our self pay option.




Can I be seen at LivingCare if I live overseas & I'm just visiting the UK?


You are still more than welcome to access any private LivingCare service, even if you are not a British citizen.




Will I need to stay overnight at LivingCare?


All our procedures will not require an overnight stay at our clinic. You are free to recover from the comfort of your own home.




Can I bring someone with me?


We understand that you may be worried or nervous about having a medical appointment/procedure, so if you’d like to bring a friend or family member with you, that’s absolutely fine. Just bring them along on the day.
