Day 2/Day 2 & Day 8 tesing.
LivingCare are a Day 2 & 8 testing provider in England. We work to make your return to the UK as easy as possible with our postal day 2 & 8 kits. We work with our government approved lab, Oncologica to provide this service.
In line with the UK Government guidance, it is compulsory to perform Day 2/Day 2 & 8 Covid-19 tests after international travel based on the traffic light system for travel, and for the new system replacing this on the 4th of October.
Day 2 testing is required upon return to England from green & amber list countries (and the "rest of the world" list from the 4th of October) for travelers who are fully vaccinated. Day 2 & 8 testing is required for unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travelers from amber and "rest of the world" list countries.
Note: "Rest of the world" list is only applicable after 4am on the 4th of October.
There are specific requirements for these tests, and they aren’t just a normal PCR. You must book from an approved provider such as LivingCare. The tests are:
Day 2: On or before day 2 - Variant surveillance PCR test including genomic sequencing on any positive results
Day 8: On or after day 8 – A further variant surveillance PCR test including genomic sequencing on any positive results
You must book your test online HERE. Booking online is the only option for this service and you must not call our team as they cannot advise you or book over the phone.
You will book and pay for your test on our website here
Find the right day test based on the coloured labels on the kit outer bag.
Perform your own swab and put the swab into the sample tube. Write the details on the tube that are included in your instructions.
You must log the date/time that you performed the swab on our online system. This is mandatory and your sample cannot be tested without it.
Place the sample tube into the biobag provided within the swabbing kit.
Place the biobag into the correct outer postage bag (ensuring that you post back your day 2 sample in the day 2 bag and day 8 in day 8)
Please post your sample back to us using your nearest priority postbox with Royal Mail. You are allowed to leave quarantine to do this but please do not go anywhere else on your way/way home.
Your sample will be received by the lab and tested.
Your results will be uploaded to your online account within 48 hours of arrival at the lab.
